Buying a hosting service is not the expensive venture that
it once was; the main thing nowadays is to find a host that
provides the kind of service and support that you need.
Many hosting services now offer enhanced services,
including domain name registration, Web site design, email
marketing, Web site promotion, parking, forwarding, search
engine submission, shoping accounts, secure servers, and even
merchant account services.
Be aware that buying a hosting service does
not necessarily give you the ability to take credit cards
over the internet, even if they offer a shopping cart feature:
you must qualify for a merchant
account first.

StartLogic
-- we use this service. It provides many of the features that you want for a very low monthly fee. Phone support, redundancy, control panel. What we really love is that this service will allow you to piggyback nine additional domains onto your original domain for the same low monthly fee plus the cheap name registration. These are real sites with unique URLs, not subdomains!
You can easily register additonal domain names at any time through their web site. Any other service would charge you for each domain, so if it cost $70 / year to host one domain and $8 / year to register the names, then it would cost you a total of $780 / year for 10 domains and registrations / year: instead it costs $70 / hosting for 10 domains, plus the registration fee for each additional domain name. No wonder we love this service. |
